Parish of Droitwich Spa

Easter 2017

As we journey together through Lent we take time to think, pray, reflect, re-establish life-giving patterns and establish new ones as we seek to live as disciples of Jesus.

Lent culminates in Holy Week as we journey towards the cross and recount the final week of Jesus' life on earth. At the end of the week on Easter Sunday we gather together in different ways to celebrate the wonderful news that 'He is Risen,' that Jesus died, but rose again for us.

This year we have a series of events and services throughout Holy Week. You are welcome to join in any or all as we journey together. Whether you have celebrated Easter many times or whether it is all new to you, you are welcome.... Download our Easter Events flier here.

27 March to 23 April: Experience Easter Displays,  St Andrews Church

expereice easterhopes and dreams

St Andrews Church is open all day and Experience Easter is available for members of the public to visit and take part in the activities from until 23rd April.

Over the last few weeks over 350 children from fours schools: St Peter’s Droitwich CofE Academy, Hindlip First School, Westlands First school and Chawson First School, have been guided through Experience Easter.

There are six interactive displays telling the story of Easter at St Andrews Church . At each of the six displays there is something to do or to think about. For example at the Hopes and Dreams display, which tells the story of Palm Sunday, there is a road, palm leaves and a cross made from stone. People are invited to pick up a stone and write their hope and dream upon it, then place it at the foot of the cross.
