Bells and Flowers
Making the arrangements
It is your responsibility to make the arrangments for booking bells and making arrangemnets for florists, separately from the other arrangements you make with the clergy, though advice is available, and the vicar will check what arrangements you have made.
Booking the Bells
If you would like the church bells rung at your wedding, please book them with the appropriate person:
| Church | Contact Person | Phone |
|---|---|---|
| St Augustine's | Mark Ingledew | 07595 053638 |
| St Nicholas' | Hilary Fisher | 01905 798551 |
| St Peter's | Helen Perberdy | 01905 772847 |
St Augustine's has a peal of eight bells.- St Nicholas' has an electronic carillion.
- St Peter's has a peal of six bells.
Planning Flowers
Your florist, or friend arranging your wedding flowers, may wish to see the church beforehand. Alternatively, you may wish to provide money for flowers in the church, and ask the church to incorporate your colours in their weekly arrangements. What is possible varies from church to church, and with the time of year. In the first place, please contact the appropriate person for each church.
| Church | Contact Person | Phone |
|---|---|---|
| St Augustine's | Pauline Adkins | 01905 621060 |
| St Nicholas' | Pat Harrison | 01905 772737 |
| St Peter's | Diana Drury | 01905 774557 |
If there is more than one wedding in the same church on the same day, it may be possible to share flowers (and the expense) with other couples. If you are interested in this, we can put you in touch with each other.
