Reading Circle - Update

Claim Your Just Desserts - 4th December

Spotted dick, jam roly poly, bread pudding, apple pie, cheesecake, rice pud, apple cake, chocolate yummy things, winter fruit salad, plum crumble, party jelly, boozy trifle, fruit brulee..... How many of these will be on the menu for Just Desserts on Friday 4th December?
Put the date in your diary now and prepare to enjoy an evening of good pud. Details to follow.

Calling all who would like to sing!

Advent & Christmas Carol Services
These will be held on 29th November and 20th December respectively.
If you would like to sing with the choir on one or both occasions, please just turn up at choir practice on Monday evening, 7.30pm at the Parish Centre; you will be most welcome. If you wish to, talk to Roger Gay beforehand (770539), please do.

Oakville Singers Concert - 5th December

The OAKVILLE SINGERS will give a concert of Christmas music which includes part of Handel’s ‘Messiah’ on Saturday December 5th in St Andrew’s Church, Droitwich Spa, at 7.30pm.
The Conductor is Ivan Oliver, organist and choirmaster of Claines Church, Worcestershire.
Tickets on sale at the door.

Remembrance Sunday - 8th November

On 8th November the Remembrance Service will be held at St Andrew’s church at approximately 11.30am following the ceremonies around the war memorial in Victoria Square and so there will be no Eucharist at 10.30am that day.

Other services in the parish (at 8am, 9.30am and 5pm) will take place as usual.

Service in Memory of Loved Ones - 1st November - 4pm

On November 1st at 4pm in St Nicholas' church we shall be holding our annual service in memory of loved ones. It will provide an opportunity to remember those who have gone before us, who have had an influence on our lives and whose presence we miss. It doesn't matter how long ago a person died for it still to be painful. After the service we will be serving tea and cakes.

Operation Christmas Child

Leaflets are now available in each of the churches for this annual event. Please fill a shoebox or bring gifts to pack for needy children abroad and leave in church or the Parish Centre. Packing day this year is Saturday 14th November at St Nicholas’ Church from 10am to 12noon. Helpers will be welcome. Further details available from Jill Wheeler (775343).

Moving Prayer - 24th October

At St Nicholas’ Church on Saturday 24 October between 2.30pm and 4.45pm Mary Calloway will again be leading us in an afternoon of meditative circle dancing. The simple repeated steps and movements will hopefully bring us a time of peace and reflection. The cost of the afternoon is £3.00 which includes light refreshments.
