Future Dates for your Diary

Bingo and Fish & Chip Supper - 7pm Friday 19th September 2008
At St Nicholas’ Church. Tickets, including supper, £5 — from Hilary Fisher [01905 798551] or from St Nicholas’ Church. Everyone welcome

Harvest Festival - 10 am Sunday 5th October 2008
United Eucharist at St Andrew’s. The preacher will be the Revd Andrew Mottram, formerly priest at All Saints, Hereford, and his work there developing a church facing massive repair bills or closure into a thriving building for the city centre has been inspiring our thinking in Droitwich. He now works as a consultant helping other parishes make the most of their buildings. As well as preaching he will lead two workshops, before and after a "bring and share" lunch. Do put this day in your diary now, and come along ready to be enthused and inspired about ways in which we can use our buildings better. There will be children’s activities during the service. You are welcome to bring harvest gifts in cash or kind to the service; produce will be sold and the money given to charity; non-perishables will go to the Maggs Day Centre in Worcester. Please note there are no other services in the parish on this day.

Concert - Saturday 6th December 2008
The popular Trio Con Brio (Simon, Daniella and Sarah) are returning to St. Peter’s on Saturday 6th December to give a concert of seasonal music. All are welcome. Tickets will be available in October from Margaret a Brian Harle. Put the date in your diary now.

Thank you Jean & Eleanor

Thank you: Jean Westwood has stepped down as verger at St Andrew’s and at the 11am service last Wednesday we expressed our thanks and appreciation for Jean’s hard work over a number of years. We wish her well in her retirement from this role and thank her warmly for welcoming so many people to the church and for all her practical help.

Thank you: Eleanor Ackrill retired as verger at St Peter’s at the end of August after more than 20 years service. We shall be saying thank you to her on Sunday 12th October at the 9.30am service, and also over special refreshments afterwards. You are warmly invited to join this special occasion. If you would like to make a contribution to a gift for Eleanor please speak to Barbara Stephens or Michael Norris.

Toast & Toddlers morning

Between 10am and 12 noon on Saturday 20th September St Nicholas' will be open for toast and bacon butties for dads and their toddlers. It's a chance for mums to have a morning off and for dads to enjoy a good bacon butty and play.

What's being a Christian all about?

If that is a question you'd like to ask then pop along to St Nicholas' church at 7.15pm on Wednesday 10th September.

It's an evening for enquirers. After supper we'll be looking at how we can be followers of Jesus today.
