Parish Office hours

The main point of contact is the parish office. The full contact details for the parish office are in the right-hand sidebar.

The office is staffed between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm from Tuesday to Friday. It is open for you to call in person on those days between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon.

Baptisms

Before contacting the office for baptism enquiries, you may find it helpful to read the baptism pages of this website.

Weddings

Clergy

You can contact any of the clergy with your enquiries, and they will do their best to help you with them. Each, however has an area for which they are the primary contact.

Sheila Banyard – The Congregational Pastor

Canon Sheila Banyard is the Team Rector and responsible for the oversight of the worship, pastoral care of the congregations, and the church buildings and churchyards of St Augustine's, St Peter's, and St Nicholas'. Queries about those matters are best directed to her in the first place.

David Owen – The Pastoral Missioner

Revd David Owen is one of the Team Vicars, and responsible for the organising and oversight of baptisms, weddings and funerals, as well as liasing with schools and uniformed organisations across the parish. Queries about those matters are best directed to him in the first place.

Doug Chaplin – The Community Missioner

Fr Doug Chaplin is the other Team Vicar, and has oversight of the church's involvement with the wider community, the town and district council and various events and organisations. He is responsible for the oversight of St Andrew's and the Parish Centre, and its use and development. Queries from outside organisations for church support and involvement, special events and services are best directed to him in the first place.

Rita Holden – Associate Priest

Revd Rita Holden is a voluntary minister working part-time across the parish, in collaboration with her colleagues. She shares worship and pastoral work in every area, and is especially involved in baptisms and weddings, and has oversight of the church's ministry to the housebound and those in residential care.

Sue Barrett – Curate

Revd Sue Barrett is also a voluntary minister working part-time across the parish, in collaboration with her colleagues. She is completing her training while getting fully involved in every area of parochial ministry.
