A Baptism Enquirers' Meeting

We invite you to take three steps with us to prepare for your child's christening, also known as baptism. The first step is for you and your partner, to come to a Baptism Enquirers' meeting. These are held regularly at the Parish Centre, by St Andrew's Church in Droitwich town centre. The dates for this year are at the bottom of this page.

Please let us know when you plan to come to the meeting - book a date by contacting the Parish Secretary (see the Parish Office details on the right). It is quite important to book in advance: meetings at some times of the year can be oversubscribed, and we can also inform you if there have been any last minute changes.

What happens in the meeting?

The meeting lasts about one hour and is not really suitable for children or babies so we ask you please to find a sitter for the occasion.

Over refreshments you will meet people from your parish church. You will be able to find out more about baptism and about the Christian faith , and there will be information on church activities for you and your children. You can talk to other parents who are thinking about baptism too.

The meeting will also explain how to arrange a baptism if you feel this is right for you and your child, but please note that service dates are not booked on this evening.

However, after discovering more, some people decide that baptism is not right for them just now. Instead you might want to consider a Service of Thanksgiving. You could still choose baptism for your child later on.

Dates and Times of Meetings

Meetings are normally on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 8.00pm. When we have a large number of enquiries, we provide additional meetings. The Parish Secretary will have all the dates when you ring the office, but these are the ones currently planned for this year.
